Collegiate Advisory Board Open Letter

Dear Collegiate A Cappella Leader,

I'm pleased to invite you to apply to become a member of the SingStrong Collegiate Advisory Board.

SingStrong is the foremost international charity a cappella festival in the world. Since 2009, we have produced the successful SingStrong a cappella festivals:  SingStrong DC SingStrong Chicago and SingStrong New York!

You are an up-and-coming leader in the a cappella world. You hear music differently, create music differently and relate to music differently. We’re asking that you share your insights with us and help guide SingStrong into the future.

SingStrong’s past acts include Pentatonix, NOTA, Street Corner Symphony, Ten, MAXX Factor, Traces, Afro-Blue and The Vanderbilt Melodores from NBC's TV show, "The Sing-Off"; Grammy Winners, Take-6 and Ben Bram (with Level), American Idol's Blake Lewis, and Nate Tao (with The Funx); Ball in the House from America's Got Talent;  New York City's pop, twisted-broadway quartet, Blue Jupiter with Diana Preisler, star of Pitch Slapped, A cappella TV Show on Lifetime; viral youtube sensation and Austrian overtone singer, Anna-Maria Hefele; live-loopers, Julia Easterlin from Lollapalooza and Grace McLean; National Harmony Sweepstakes Champions, Stiletta, and Harmony Sweeps champions GQ, Traces, Da Capo, Cartoon Johnny, Red No 5, Capri, Breath of Soul and others; Broadway Trio, Apollo Link; the haunting, Eastern European sounds of Slaveya and Zulal; renown overtone singer and Wynton Marsalis collaborator, Alex Glenfield; comedic a cappella legends, The BOBS; international touring acts, The Swingle Singers (England), The Essentials (Canada), The Glue (Switzerland), Fii (Austria), Vocaldente (Germany), VocalLine (Denmark), Ensamble Fenix (Venezuela) ONAIR (Germany) Voco Novo (Taiwan); The Alexandria Harmonizers, barbershop multi-medalists; beatboxers, Mandible (VocaPeople), Masai Electro (feat. on multiple national commercials), Ben Mirin (TED Talks), MC Beats (top ranked female beatboxer), Kaila Mulady (2015 World Champion Beatboxer and Beatrhymer) and hundreds of college groups and high school groups.

Who should we have back? Who should we have next?

The Collegiate Advisory Board has a voice in those decisions.

Being a member of the SingStrong Collegiate Advisory Board provides you with a unique opportunity to influence the direction of future SingStrong festivals.

You’ll look at an already  successful festival with fresh eyes, and you’ll have a direct line of communication to help make it even better.

You’ll help us choose artists –particularly artists that are outside the mainstream- that you want to see in concert. You'll give us feedback on our classes, coaches and even prizes.

You’ll help us reach out to the collegiate community in ways that resonate.

You'll have the opportunity to shape the future, now.

This is more than pop music. SingStrong is a weekend-long a cappella music festival, featuring groups from around the world performing every style under the sun, from barbershop to doo-wop, pop to jazz, beatbox to overtone singing and beyond. Profits support music programs and the fight against Alzheimer's Disease.

It’s part of our core mission to bring together a broad diversity of musical styles and tastes, and you are a vital part of that.

If you are selected to join this advisory committee, your commitment includes:
  • Participating in a limited number of meetings
  • sharing your opinions in surveys and communications
  • representing your collegiate group with honor
  • being honest, loyal and forthright in all SingStrong dealings
  • keeping any “insider” information strictly confidential
  • Maintaining community spirit
  • Helping spread the message of what SingStrong is all about

Most of all, your commitment involves being an ambassador and a champion for a SingStrong a cappella festival that you help to build.

Thank you for becoming a part of this incredible event.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Yours In Harmony,
